Если ослабевшая Россия антагонизирует самый влиятельный регион мира, будущее не влечет особых надежд. Объективные обстоятельства диктуют менее воинственное поведение, делают почти обязательной большую готовность к реализации компромиссного сценария. Но, обозревая опыт пребывания в антитеррористической коалиции, судя по отторжению России от основных западных организаций, жесткости после совместной борьбы. * * * Россия не одинока в своем мироощущении. В маргинализации абсолютного большинства мирового населения заключается главный парадокс современного мира: обладающие оригинальными культурными чертами большие и малые государства теряют свою специфичность. Если попытаться проанализировать состояние гордых прежних участников мировой истории, то нетрудно убедиться в общности главного аспекта их мучительного развития: Россия, Китай и Индия чрезвычайно отличаются друг от друга, но эти различия в потоке исторического развития гасит общая черта — стремление сократить дистанцию, отделяющую их от Запада. В этом смысле они (как и большинство других стран Евразии, Латинской Америки, Африки) абсолютно «неспецифичны», а единообразны — потому что подчинены (как безусловной исторической необходимости) решению двух задач: сохранить внутреннее своеобразие (в противном случае ломка структур породит революционные катаклизмы) и сократить разрыв между собой и Западом, поскольку только это может превратить их из объектов мировой истории в ее реальных субъектов. Языки, религии, установления могут быть различными, но направленность усилий одна — сто семьдесят стран Земли прилагают отчаянные усилия, чтобы войти в круг тридцати стран Организации экономического сотрудничества и развития (ОЭСР), в круг презираемого, составляющего предмет восхищения и зависти, раболепия и ненависти.
